1st of August 2019 RUE Gomelenergo put the substation 330 kV Metallurgic into operation, it was built according to the design documentation that had been developed by the RUE Belenergosetprojekt.
The project was aimed at implementing Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated October 6, 2014 No. 466, according to which RUE Belenergosetprojekt should act as the general design organization for the implementation of desk tracing and design of the facility. RUE Gomelenergo was to carry out the construction and commissioning of the facility called “Organization of the production of long products with the construction of a small-section wire mill at BMZ OJSC - management company of BMK holding. The facility implemented a digital substation concept using traditional current transformers, voltage transformers, coupling devices and process busbars. These devices provide conversion of analog (secondary current and voltage signals) and discrete (position of switches, disconnectors, etc.) information into a digital standardized protocol in accordance with IEC 61850. The process busbar covers all 330 kV, 110 kV feeder bays and output of 10 kV autotransformers.
The project also provided the replacement of 330 kV circuit breakers with SF6 circuit breakers at the 330 kV substations Zhlobin and Zhlobin Zapadnaya.
